They did a tour in Eastern Europe that the American government more or less pushed them into because their lead singer... David Clayton Thomas.
And they had previously been involved in like 1968 politics, the Chicago 7, very left wing politics.
But having done now a tour for the State Department and some would say the CIA, when Blood, Sweat and Tears came back from their European tour, Abbie Hoffman and what's his name, Jerry Rubin, they were dumping manure outside of Madison Square Garden, calling them the CIA band.
which really hurt their credibility and really damaged the band's reputation.
But there you go.
That's an example of what they would later do, you speculated with rap, is taking something, rock music in 1968, 1970, and saying rather than be oppositional to this, let's use the energy from this.
