Driving away from the town, they pass the empty RV owned by David's family and Peter's sister's car.
Mary tells Steve to stop the truck to retrieve an overnight case from the car.
In the back seat, Mary finds a photo album belonging to David with a f uh picture of Johnny and Pi together, which Steve identici uh identifies as being signed by Johnny.

Uh this novel begins right away with a who's who's of names scrawled across the screen as old photos of miners and the Chinese scroll by.
From there we get the establishing shot of the desert, invoking the stand to me, which conjures good memories of Mick Garris' directed Stephen King efforts.
He has found success with Desert-based King adaptations with an ensemble cast, so I'm hoping that we return to the high highs of the stand following the disappointment of later movies like Riding the Bullet, Sleepwalkers, Quicksilver Highway, and The Shining.
