She's unsuccessful, she's quickly imprisoned with the rest of them.
And in this moment there's a tense standoff between Kollie and young David Carver, and it's clear that he senses something about the boy.
He dismisses his belief in God and again references the Kanta and the Kantak as the only gods in this desert.

And I have to say that their album contraband was really good when it came out.
I really enjoyed it.
Slither, Fall to Pieces, Loving the Alien, these are all great songs.
And their cover of Psycho Killer, it's really, really well done.
So it's was fun watching Steven Weber listen to the band as he makes uh his way across the desert.
He picks up uh hitchhiking Cynthia Smith, um and and we get some pretty groanworthy dialogue here between the two of them.
Don't call me cookie and I won't call you cake, she says, um, in a line uh where no human being has ever uttered somet something like that before.
She lightly chides him for what she thinks is him checking her out, and and he may be, uh, but he's also checking out her shirt, which has Bob Dylan on it.
