So um there's a lot
of familiar faces with a really uh strong story here.
And what really stood out to me
as I was watching this, I already touched upon uh this a little bit.
Um this functions as a very nice thematic sequel to the stand.
Um it truly does.
Uh the the desolation of this desert town uh may as well be apocalyptic.
You know, they're in the middle of nowhere, but the the death and destruction um seems
Just a as it would to any of the survivors um in the wake of Captain Trips just making their way across the country.
Um this feels a part of that.
Um it feels uh tonally, thematically, and visually in line with what he had done um just over a decade prior.
Um
Just like the stand, it has a very strong ensemble cast, um, that he is able to juggle very nicely.
The dead bodies are strewn everywhere.
The horrors are apparent.
Uh the the desert town itself, it just you think about those opening moments of the stand um taking place in the desert.
You think of uh Randall Flag in the desert, this desert horror um in the wake of tragedy and dead bodies everywhere in a Stephen King story.
It it it makes it a very nice um
thematic sequel to uh the stand, but on on top of the ensemble piece, on top of the the fact that they're they're both um adaptations that that Mick Garris directed, um, starring uh at least one of the actors um who appeared in both um and there's a supernatural fourth uh force the I would say that uh one of the the biggest um tethering connections between the two
