Um, so it's really uh Tim pulling on his knowledge from the waste plants that he's been around while he's worked across the country and been in Auckland and even over in Aussie and gone, Yeah, we need to get ahead of the game here, you know, and start looking after the waste properly and start looking after Dunedin a bit better.

that comes to mind when I think about that is um trying to think outside of the square and go, you know, as as a residential homeowner, as commercial business owner and operator, every business and every company, every home produces a waste.

So it's looking at that waste and going

Or I have no idea what to do with this waste.

Would someone at Reliance Recovery know what to do with this waste?

Or is it something that still just has to go to landfill?

Um like take sawdust, for example.

I have really learned over the last couple of months how incredible sawdust is.

It's like little gold shavings of amazingness.

Um, we use that as a bulking agent um for the um for the leftover dirt from particularly sump waste

to bulk it up and lower the contamination levels and it's incredible.

And normally the companies that bring us their sawdust now, they would take that to the landfill and it would be tipped off as general rubbish.

So it's um it's being able to look at things like that and go, Oh, you know what, this might might not have components to it that can be broken down and reused, but can it be used in another process to help minimize waste and to help make things cleaner?
