Did you see all the bands that were on this playlist?
Sam Hunt, Beyonce.
It was like all over the place.
There was no... And that's why we want to talk about it.
It's not about spreading gossip.
It's a story that you're going to see.
So it's just kind of like our due diligence to mention it.
But based off of it, we want to talk about the good old days when there was the art of the mixtape, and it did mean something.
I want to ask you this, buddy boy.
Go ahead.
When Spotify or SiriusXM, Pandora, Apple, when all these companies...
make the music so accessible to you, and that's the world we live in now, right?
You go to the iHeart app, or wherever the heck you consume your music.
You can make, like, a Spotify playlist like that in five minutes.
Does that take away the love that goes behind a mixtape?
Like, if you made a girl a mixtape back in the day, I'm talking cassette tape or even, like, burning a CD, there was, like, almost, like, an effort...
You would even put some artwork, like you would maybe write on it for her, a little message.
Will kids now ever understand?
How much a mixtape... I'm sure there's maybe an equivalent that I don't know of, but the effort's not the same.
The amount of heart is not the same.
