Certainly they're up there with quite a lot of the current players.

But obviously at the end it's been a drop-off for him.

And when you get to that stage, you're now a risk for the bigger boys.

So if you want him...

go and play where you still think potentially you can, if a club can put together a package which is just purely incentivised, then it's a no-brainer.

If I'm, and I'm not saying this, but if I'm, you know, I'm not suggesting it's Tottenham or Newcastle or anybody, all right?

But if I'm a player who needs somebody for six months or 10 months, but I don't want to throw the kitchen sink at it, and I can put a package together where if the player does well,

then we do well and he gets remunerated, then everyone's a winner.

But if you give him 50, 100 grand a week up front and he comes in and it's kind of how it's been, then that's a risk.

And I don't see a club taking that with Raheem Sterling unless he's willing to accept that it might be, and I don't know what the figures are these days, but back in the day it would have been, you know,

three or four grand a week up front and maybe double that if you played well.

If you're on a certain wage and you're playing bonus, if you play every game, if you play four games a month and you're on double your wages to play, then you're making your money up.

And if you don't play...

You don't get that money, so it's very... Does he need the money?
