And, you know, like a lot of players, you know, you reach a point where the place you're at currently, the place you've grown up in, and Brendan's grown up as a Montreal Canadian,
you know, might not have a place for you any longer.
Brendan understands it.
Brendan recognizes it.
And I think that I speak for everybody.
You know, you wish it could be different for Brendan.
You wish it could be different.
You wish that somebody that's given so much to the Montreal Canadiens, that's been so proud to be a Montreal Canadian, could continue to contribute and continue to be part of the organization.
But again, I've got a lot of mileage involved
A lot of mileage out of Nathan McKinnon's comment post-Olympics after they lost in the gold medal match.
He said he can't fight reality.
And I think right now the reality for Brendan is that if he wants to continue playing, he'll go.
And he'll help a team.
he's not going to help a team by scoring 25 goals, but he'll help a team just by who he is as a person, as a leader.
And he can never, ever underestimate the importance of that.
And just the example they set.
And again, Brendan is a phenomenal person.
And, you know, when you think about, you really do think that, I go back to the saying, from failing hands, we throw you the torch for yours to hold high.
Brandon Gallagher can hold that torch high, and he's passed it on to so many players and are going to be a big part of the Montreal Canadiens' present and future.
I think a couple of things that, you know, I think has to be mentioned is, is that Carolina hurricanes have never shown a reluctance to be aggressive.
