His name's Pace.
He's not quite two now.
And so at night, after my wife Jenny would go to sleep,
I would open up the laptop and start dictating sometimes.
Sometimes I'd put fingers to keyboard because that helps me think.
And for anybody that has a little bit of vision, you probably understand what I'm saying.
Sometimes you want the adaptive software.
Sometimes you don't.
But I started doing some storytelling at night as a form of journaling.
and then showed some of the stories to a friend of mine.
And he said, you might have a book here.
Have you thought about formatting it into a start-to-finish story about your career in hockey and what your life was like off the ice while you were starting to play and then eventually playing for Team USA?
So I got some help from some experienced people that had written books before and eventually turned it into something that I thought might have a chance to be publishable
And then I was quite surprised when I found a literary agent.
Her name's Marissa Corvisero.
She really helped guide me through the process from there.
And then we found a sports book publisher here in the States named Triumph Books that was very interested in it.
And we're now at the point where the audio book is live and we're less than two weeks away from the print version launching.
So pretty surreal for someone that never really sat down to write a published book to be at the state that I'm in now.
Yeah, there are three main themes in the book that I would say might cause you to open it.
