spending too much time trying to get him right and i don't think he can deal with it himself either no no massively um yeah i think you're right i think this is in terms of um you know a massive platform into next season this feels it feels huge um and you know obviously our pre-season is going to be a little bit disrupted by the world cup but if you can have players like him who are scoring goals i think everyone's got really really excited about the goal that we see in the friendly
because it's the kind of goal that we haven't seen for Liverpool yet and I've been I mean in terms of him as a player I've been really worried about how much he's pulled up and how much at different times when he's meant to be available he's then not or he plays one game and then he's not I think that really worries me because we've seen that at different times with players like Joe Gomez as an example but it's a lot different if it's your right back
who's Joe Gomez and been at the club for as long and it's your Β£110 million signing.
So I think we're all watching this World Cup with real hope that Isaac is able to score and get off the mark quickly and to be banging them in and then to bring those goals back to Liverpool.
I'm backing them, I'm backing Gakko, it's for the same reason, I remember the last World Cup being really impressed by him, obviously that's the summer before we, summer, the World Cup before we sign him, but I'm backing them in a tournament like this, and they just feel as if they've got a pretty steady team hold, and you've just talked me through their potential route to get through, so yeah, I'm backing them.
Yeah, I was going to say that, but I think in terms of Messi, it's just been the last World Cup I've felt like a real sort of privilege to be able to get to see him do what he did.
And you're right, you see them run towards him at the final whistle.
You see the way in which they all talk about him.
I have absolutely no idea how they're going to go on in this World Cup.
How do you do in a World Cup after you've won the World Cup of all World Cup finals, by the way?
The final was incredible.
You're obviously doing it for Messi.
Yeah.
McAllister, it's a funny one because if he was going to stay at Liverpool I can't work out whether him going to a World Cup was actually the thing that we would have wanted to happen or whether him going to the World Cup and performing well is the thing that we'd want to happen because he's played so much football since that last World Cup I think it feels as if he hasn't stopped and so as we're watching a player whose legs feel as if at times they're gone I'm always worried when saying things like that because
I never think that's the case.
A lot of it's in your mind as well.
And so there might have been things that he's dealing with or things that we know they've definitely been dealing with.
They know it's been a difficult season, all of that.
It might just be one where it's a new environment for him.
It's around his mates from home and we see him thrive in this.
