I know he's had a lot of injuries and a lot of concussions, but I reckon he's a brilliant player.

Now, he was sent off.

Now, all the narrative around that, that did coincide with the amazing comeback of New South Wales.

And then all the post-match narrative was around, should he have been sent off?

What happens in this moment?

And then you've got the iconic commentator, Phil Gould.

in this exchange with James Bracey, the great host of the entire coverage on Channel 9 post-match when the emotions are still really heightened.

And just to remind Phil Gould, everyone, Phil Gould, Gus Gould, I think Phil Hutchie is one of the greatest broadcasters this country has ever seen.

And he, in that moment, chose to address this issue this way.

I'll jump in there because I want to get your view because I've got my own views on it.

But I would be staggered if Phil Gould was thinking of the NRL broadcast rights issue in that moment.

I'm not buying that part of it.

Well, this is what I've reflected upon, Hutchie, because I watched it live.

I watched every single minute in the post-match because it was an absorbing game.

And I loved it.

And it went way too late and way too long.

I didn't go to bed until that broadcast finished.

So I watched it in live.

I wanted to know what Phil Gould said because it was controversial at the time.
