Well, they do now for Toronto and San Jose.
So that's the benefit of them winning the lottery one and two for the draft.
I think that when you look at the San Jose Sharks, we always get into this best player available.
Well, who is the best player available?
Every team's list is different.
It would be simple if you just said, okay, here's the players that are, and you just go, okay, that's the next guy.
It doesn't work like that.
So if I look at the San Jose Sharks and I look at how many really good young offensive forwards they have, and then you consider what they went and did.
They traded for Gasol, advancing that pick into four years with a player in a trade.
They pick up Kesselring.
They move a couple spots back in the draft to fill out that part of their lineup.
It feels to me like they have a bunch of the areas of their team covered off with respect to prospects and current young players.
It feels like that defense spot, specifically that right shot defense spot, is vacant.
And it feels like this is an opportunity that's presented itself to the San Jose Sharks.
that is very different than if they were picking eight.
And for me, that feels like taking a right shot defenseman.
I feel that Chase Reed, it wouldn't surprise me one bit if he ends up being the best player in this draft.
And people say, well, why don't you have him number one?
Because I'm not there yet.
I'm just saying like Tim Stutzla back in his draft year, it wasn't going to surprise me if he ended up being the best player.
