And I love the hires that Mike has had since he was named coach of the Oilers.

DJ Smith, I have a lot of appreciation and respect for him and the energy that he brings.

I don't know DJ all that well, but...

What I hear is fantastic.

You know, Paul McFarlane did, I thought, a seamless, wonderful job last year taking over for Gulley on that power play, which, you know, it's hard to take over a power play that's had that amount of success.

And I think he did a wonderful job, too.

And, you know, they've got Misha Donskov, who...

Okay, we'll get to Misha in a second here, but you mentioned

tough to beat that.

Yeah, no, he did a great job, and it wasn't an easy transition because those players had so much respect for Glenn Gullickson, and he had such a great skill set as a coach.

He's a tough act to follow, and Paul did it very well.

You know, it'll be interesting this year on the special teams because the mantra, according to what I've read and listened to, is trying to get more ice time for other players outside of our top guys.

And we talked about many times our top six to me is the best in the league.

And our bottom six, I think, is not anywhere close to the best in the league.

So it's going to be interesting for me to see how those special teams are allocated.

And if you want to include more people, you need guys to get touches on the power play.

You need some easier offense to build your confidence.

But...

You're not going to have your best players out there at critical times during the game, and you're going to have to be willing to lose games and put games into balance, which Chris, to his credit, never did.
