That was 37 years ago.

We've been married 37 years.

It's been like 20 of the best years of my life.

literally and that's what i was just about to say is like you guys married so young what was that like growing up like you guys have been through everything she has uh you know uh we learned a lot together uh there were their struggles just like with any relationship yeah but you know we the for us it was a commitment and and we said and she knew she was marrying a soldier yes uh so she was prepared for that um

There were times that situations and things happened that I don't think she was prepared for.

When I was in Panama, a marked government vehicle pulled up.

She stayed with her dad while I was in Panama.

And an army vehicle pulled up to the house, and she would not answer the door.

She just knew that they were there to tell her that, you know, I had not made it, that I had died.

Oh, my gosh.

But she lived through that experience.

I mean, you know, I didn't die, obviously.

But for her to be standing in that house and to think the man that I love has died and they're here to tell me, you know, that's, I mean, yeah, that's heartbreaking.

I couldn't imagine that, yeah.

And, you know, think about the women and men that have been in that position that had to answer that door and that did receive that message.

No.

I mean, it's heartbreaking.

But anyway, I say all that to say she's confident.

She's a beautiful lady.

She's very ladylike, but she can get dirty-ass Texas on you quick, too, and just be mean as shit.
