I also think it's interesting in that we've heard Musk say over and over again that he wishes he had more control over Tesla.
One of the ways to sort of address the fact that he's not particularly comfortable with his command of that company would be to combine these, because that is an aspect of SpaceX's structure that is quite different, where he has a special class of stock that Tesla didn't have when it went public.
If they were to combine, they would sort of rationalize that and give him the ability of stock that protects him from any activism or challenges to his sort of rule of the company.
I I found last night's uh Love Fest between Diamond and Musk uh uh you know fascinating.
It's not often that you see Jamie Diamond uh struggle to get a uh a word in.
Uh and yet uh we saw a little bit of that where uh you know it it took uh time for uh for for musk to get through his answers and uh he was quite long-winded and they had some fun about that as we saw in that clip.
Uh I I think also you know Musk was uh pretty
forthcoming about this notion that's what's what's driving this is uh that he needs capital.
And you know we saw this week as well, you know, even at at Alphabet uh this this notion that uh a company of that size that is that cash generative uh still is going out to raise 80 billion dollars uh with the backing of Berkshire Hathaway.
Uh so I think this is part of you know this broader uh you know movement uh by by tech companies
companies and by you know AI hyperscalers uh to to raise it absolutely as much money as they possibly can given uh just how intensive this race has become.
Yeah, I I think that's a setback, but I think it's also the case that the S P uh you know i is uh deciding differently from some other indices.
And so uh you know the NASDAQ has taken a different different approach, and so perhaps uh there there will be uh you know some indexes uh you know where where uh you and I uh if we're in and invested in index funds, uh, you know, will get a piece of this company and it's just a matter of some some sort of
Spacing out uh of when uh we'll see demand for these shares from from various uh you know institutional investors.
Uh and and perhaps that's actually for the best, uh given that uh there is so much concern about all of these uh sort of market uh mechanics and and just uh how disruptive this will be given how how small afloat uh you know we're
To me.
We saw last night uh Jamie Diamond and Elon Musk yucking it up.
These two haven't always been uh so close, and yet uh the the morning after we see JP Morgan go from one of the most bearish banks on Tesla shares to a new analyst taking over coverage and increasing uh the price target uh by more than 200%.
So very notable in light of last night's event.
Yeah, I I think, you know, part of what uh you know made the numbers look so good was maybe there was a a moment where everyone wondered whether or not Tesla was actually going to go forward with this sort of high wire act of of uh you know spending the twenty billion dollars plus in in capex that was outlined just a few months ago.
