You have two ways of seeing this.

Number one, I am the manager.

I know the players that I like.

I could not care less how they are performing currently at their clubs.

Fine.

That's your prerogative.

The other way is, listen, I'm going to be prisoner of the moment.

This guy right now is playing at such a high level that it doesn't matter what I thought of him six months ago.

I have to include him.

I have to find a place for him.

And I brought up the Christian Pulisic example because for so many years, it was Christian Pulisic and 10 other players in the U.S.

men's national team.

I'm not saying he doesn't deserve to start for the team or being the leader of this team.

But this year, he hasn't been that effective because he's been hurt.

He hasn't played as many minutes as he has in the past.

And his impact has been limited.

So if we're going to go with right now, what do you bring to the table?

There's obviously a spot for Weston McKinney.

Is there a safe spot for Christian Pulisic?

I say yes, but under this conversation, maybe that's not the case.
