And that was always the pushback.
It's like, I don't want this movie to espouse my personal politics or reaffirm all my beliefs about the world.
It doesn't matter.
It's entertainment.
I'm there to escape from the mundane realities of day-to-day life.
And I'm there to escape from all the politics that comes with every other part of day-to-day life.
So that's all it needs to do, is entertain you.
It's not that hard, but they made it hard.
Yes, they are.
You can see a lot of the pivots starting to happen within the bigger franchises.
Marvel is a good example of that.
They've very much pivoted away from all that political identity politics pandering.
And I think Hollywood has grudgingly learned their lesson.
I think maybe they convinced themselves
probably based on things like what they see on the internet, on social media and so on, that the world was this progressive, like hard left utopia, you know, and they needed to match that.
And it didn't work out.
And it took tens of billions of dollars in lost revenue probably over a decade to finally realize it.
But they got there in the end.
It's just a shame that, you know, so many of these
pop culture franchises that we grew up with.
