Talk about fascism.

So we need to ban these people from the ballot.

And over in France, yeah, there's definitely been all of these legal wranglings.

And you would definitely say if you're in Le Pen's camp, lawfare against you to prevent you from participating in the democratic process.

Now that's being tossed out.

Yeah, and I think a lot of that is media driven.

We see that in the United States with our media, the way certain people are framed.

You look at these Mamdani-backed candidates, oh, democratic socialists or progressive candidates, not socialists or communists.

But when it comes to conservatives, it's far right, hard right, extreme right.

And all those connotations and the intonation with which the journalists speak, especially in television news,

can tell so much more than a transcript or a written story could in terms of their diction and their delivery, in terms of what they're trying to convey about a particular person.

And if it's someone you don't know anything about,

know whether you're a low information voter you're just not active in the democratic process when you hear someone speak in a negative way about someone and you may trust that person because they're your local news anchor or you may not know a lot about the news so you just think cnn and everything on cnn must be trustworthy they may then think twice about whomever that candidate is
