Hi, I'm Dale Althoff.
I live in North Carolina in the United States.
My question for CrowdScience today, why do different animals have such different tongues?
Like my tongue has these, I guess they're called papillae that are on your tongue.
And I was looking at my dog's tongue when he was licking me.
And he seems to have them, but they're much smaller.
I don't know.
Either she hasn't got them or they're smaller.
It's not clear.
And I was looking at my horse's tongue.
The horse seems to have a very smooth tongue.
Oh, yeah.
I had a parrot for a while.
And her tongue was more like either a tentacle or your finger or something.
It was kind of round and dry and she would use it to manipulate things a little bit.
When she opened her beak, she would reach out and use it that way.
