Oh, I mean, the trauma and anxiety of being pulled apart from my mother.
I hung on to her skirts because I wept.
You know, it was traumatic, most traumatic experience.
I didn't want to leave my mother.
I was pretty much a mummy's girl and didn't want to go and be in this strange environment with people I didn't know.
It frightened the life out of me.
That was awful.
I can remember that as clearly as I can remember being rocked with her in her lap.
Mm.
But Maren and I, we didn't go to the same school either because we didn't, when I was about 10, we left, or 11, 10, we left High Barnet and went to East Barnet and we moved out of this masonette to a house in East Barnet.
Yes, I think my father's parents, who lived in Sussex, West Sussex, in Haywards Heath, near Burgess Hill, where we would be sent to on holidays, summer holidays sometimes, I think they were getting older.
And the idea was that they would come and live with us.
And so they sold their property.
And with that, I think that's how mum and dad managed to buy this house in East Barnet with a garden, something we'd never had before.
And they converted the upstairs to an apartment for my grandparents.
And my parents, we lived downstairs.
