So I i Silverstone, British Grand Prix, is actually an interesting um exercise when you look at lap times from each in.

So it used to be British Grand Prix was only at Silverstone every other year, so it was like two year intervals.

And if you looked at the last

pre ground effect pole position.

Silverstone seventy seven was James Hunt 118.4 in the McLaren M twenty six.

Just two years later, Alan Jones and the Williams with the same Cosworth DFE engine has done a ten point eight and you know, just in in the space of two years.

Now Silverstone had plenty of space to accommodate that, but it just

gives you an idea of the the the the vast increase in performance.

And you got it later on with the turbos.

I think between seventy seven and eighty five they were thirteen seconds faster.

And that's despite the imposition in between there of a flat bottom regulation which took massively you know i it took a lot of performance the you probably if you'd left it unfettered he probably got twenty seconds improvement in eight years.

And that's just not sustainable.

You c can't ask tracks to keep up with that.

So that was uh one of the reasons.

It was just keep the sport viable.

And the other one was that the as I say, the the competitive one.

So you we we've got to keep the we gotta keep it so that most of the teams can be sort of within reasonable reach and distance of the others, you know?

We've got.

But it's a bit narrow for nineteen twenty nine.
