So first of all, the fact is, is bridge speaks a simple truth.

The United States cannot do everything everywhere all at once around the globe.

And the foreign policy establishment doesn't want to acknowledge that.

They want a persistent delusion that we have unlimited resources, that we can do everything, that we can be the world's policeman, that we can impose liberal hegemony around the world without real trade-offs.

But the reality is that we can't do that.
