So this is kind of a cool and at the same time controversial idea on Alexander's part to deal with the fact he doesn't have a fleet that can beat his opponent.

Well, his idea sort of revolves around
ancient naval warfare in a way that we need to take a second and understand it.
The ancient naval warfare deals with the same thing naval warfare always deals with, which is, you know, the range a fleet has, right?
How far away from its base or between bases can it go?
I mean, look at the whole need to annex territories all over the world in the late 19th century so you had coaling stations for your fleets, right?
Well, in this era, they can't go very far at all.
In general, these navies from the ancient world, these triremes and everything, they would find a place to camp every night.
