Dan Cryer is a professor at Johnson County Community College near Kansas City.

He says using AI to write a college essay is like bringing a forklift to the gym.

Cryer worries that if students rely too much on AI, it could end up cheating them out of their education.

But Anjali Tatini, a 19-year-old sophomore at Duke University, says AI helped her better understand chemistry and biology concepts.

Titini says she draws the line at having AI right for her.
