Well, that's now the record.
That's what the ABC are accountable for, yep.
Well, Sam, thanks for having me on, mate.
It's a huge thrill to be invited and a huge admirer of your platform.
Thank you.
Speaking common sense and talking truth to powers, more is needed of it, mate.
shorten it so we can make sure that we capture all the really good stuff that we want to talk about but mate over to you well thanks mate elevator pitch here and now what's in front of me is probably more important than what I've done I joined the army at 17 grew up in WA just moved back home to WA recently so day trip today from Adelaide
um born and bred south of the river my father 10 pound uh pom post-war immigrants mum scottish father irish there's a story about my family i'm born the same day as my brother irish twins yeah right you can explore that if you want to know that and the anniversary of my my birth is nine months after some paddy's day as my brothers yeah so dad didn't muck around
And my mother told me that at 35.
I always digress to that story.
So I grew up state schooling, Roswell, and joined the Army at 17, mate.
I was just really lucky.
Dad's father was killed in the Second World War.
He was Irish Army.
He became a RAF air gunner in the back of an aircraft and was killed in a training accident before he even went downrange.
So I guess that's the sort of DNA of my military service.
He was in the Southern Irish Army.
And at that point in the Second World War, there's no way the Southern Irish Army was getting involved.
So he joined the RAF at 31, much older.
Totally right.
