President Trump said tonight it may be necessary to extend the Affordable Care Act subsidies that are set to expire at the end of the year, this to reach an agreement on health care legislation.

Returning to Florida on Air Force One to begin the Thanksgiving holiday break, the president said he prefers legislation that would give money directly to people and allow them to buy their own health care plans.

Trump says he's not in favor of extending the ACA subsidies, but an extension may be needed, quote, to get something else done.

Trump also says he's been in contact with Democrats about health care legislation, but was not specific with who he was talking about.

On Wall Street, the Dow, the S&P and the Nasdaq all gained ground Tuesday.

Markets have a short week because of the Thanksgiving holiday.
