texting Adam over the weekend some other stuff about the preview that FIFA had put out that just had Balogun's name on it and kind of one game but you're still asking the questions and there's still nothing oh we're not too sure yet we don't you know have the disciplinary committee even looked at this and at that point I think is when you start thinking well there's clearly something something amiss here and then it yeah Sunday morning okay yeah it was just a bit of a whirlwind I don't know yeah I mean it's a bit of a whirlwind I would say I'm not sure if Adam would agree or disagree with any of that but

So they referred back to Article 27 of their disciplinary code, which essentially gives that committee carte blanche to sort of do as they will, or do as they want, sorry, with.

With suspensions, we saw earlier in the year with Cristiano Ronaldo, when he was sent off against Republic of Ireland, was given a three-game ban.

FIFA, via Article 27, that disciplinary committee, suspended two of those games, which meant he was able to start Portugal's World Cup opener.

Real big, big thing I can remember from when FIFA had done something like that.

And then, yeah, to do it in the Balogun case too.

So that's the reasoning they gave was just Article 27.

And when you read Article 27, I haven't got it in front of me, but it is essentially just a sentence that says they can do what they want.
