Like an unlike free agency where things can happen at any time of any day, you know, when the draft starts on Thursday and you know, roughly when it ends on Saturday.
And so there's a lot that happens in that period of, I guess it's like 47 hours from, from start to finish.
And you're just kind of in it, you know, you're, you're going through the currents pretty quickly and rapidly.
And
surfing with the team, the directions that they go in the draft.
And so that part's fun.
And as Grody knows, I love it when the draft ends because all of the off-season roster speculation and the guessing games on who's going to be here and who's going to not be here are pretty much over.
You're like 95% of the way to having your roster ready to go to training camp.
And that part's fun because then you can just start analyzing the actual team that they have assembled instead of playing all these games about who they might or might not have.
Yeah, I mean, that's the first step in the process, right?
You exercise that fifth year option.
And remember, that changed a couple years ago to, you know, there used to be little risk in exercising the fifth year option.
And then in the latest CBA, that becomes guaranteed.
The fourth year becomes guaranteed on the contract and everything goes from there as well.
And so this is a step in the right direction.
Obviously, I think Darnell did a lot to improve his game last year under a new coaching staff and a new system here.
And now you just kind of go through the process of figuring out what that looks like in your long-term future, what you want to invest in those conversations will, will get underway and you're not under an intense deadline to get them done here in the next, you know, four or five days.
But I think that will be a fluid process here over the next few months.
I'm fine with it because, listen, I think people need to be realistic with the understanding that, yes, there are high hopes here in Chicago.
There's a belief that this team can try to take a jump up.
