They mean a lot in December.

You know what I mean?

The off-season conversation on where a guy can vault or where he might slip to or what he might do in the future means so much less than when the games are being played and there's a lot on the line, what do they do to take their game to the next level?

So that's what's waiting, Caleb, September through the middle of January, potentially into February if they play well.

There's a huge test waiting for them.

And so all the rankings don't mean anything.

The directives that the coaches have for you

mean a lot more.

And I think some of that is kind of what Baldy was hitting at.
