Yeah, and it was, you know, all year long, Drew Dallman stood out for the Bears in terms of a guy who a lot of people thought was responsible for the development in Caleb Williams' second year.
And we'll get more into Caleb Williams here in a second, but we might as well stay on the offensive line because, again, second straight year under Ben Johnson, a ball, the There's going to be a good old-fashioned competition at the left tackle spot with Braxton Jones probably, you know, in pole position for that gig. But, you know, they signed Jedrick Wills, the veteran.
Karan Amagaji still supposedly is in the competition for this. Is this bad that they're having to do this for, again, considering Caleb Williams, another left tackle competition where that position with Ozzie Trapillo being injured is just not stable?
Well, I mean, Ozzie's injury had a lot to do with it late in the season. And so, you know, he really came on. And so that's unfortunate. There's only so many different things you can do. I mean, Zedrick Wells was the first round pick, you know, six years ago. I mean, he's been in this league. He's played. Braxton has started. He has played. Theo has started and played.
And so, you know, who's who's going to be the most consistent player out there? I mean, If you're from the University of British Columbia, you probably haven't gone up against elite pass rushers at that level. And so for him to even be out there last year, knowing that he's a young kid, small program, going to get bigger, going to get stronger. you know, and still got a chance to start and play.
And really, you know, in the eyes of Ben Johnson, like he gave him an opportunity. And so is it a great thing? No, you'd love to have stability. You'd love to be a team like the Jets that are bringing, you know, their five starters back or some of these teams that have done that. But that's not always the case.
And so until Ozzie gets healthy, they're going to find either cobble that position together or, move Joe Tooney out like they did in a playoff game and play left tackle and, you know, figure out the guard spot. You know, those are just a few of the options. And then you always have to keep your eye on anybody that would get released and can they help.

Chapter 3: How does the Bears' center competition impact their season?
So you've got to make good decisions under the biggest duress that there is in this business. And he made good decisions. So I think that. I don't want to take those plays away from Caleb. Like, he does that. He's done that his whole life. He did that his first game at Oklahoma against Texas. He did that. Like, that's going to be a part of him.
But if you can somehow not take that out but still allow him to develop in his progressions, his reads, be a little bit more accurate with some throws once he does locate the receiver, like, I think all those things are possible.
Summer routines live or die by how easy they are. And honestly, if something takes too much effort, I'm out. That's why Groons is my go-to. Chapter 4: What are the challenges facing Caleb Williams in his third year?
You know, you really know where they're going to be, because honestly, if any of us sat in the end zone, stood in the end zone of any game or just stood behind Caleb on any play, like he's seen maybe 40 or 50 percent of the players. He's obstructed. All the views are obstructed and you're thrown to spots and you've got to trust that they're going to be at the spot, you know, and that's.
You know, otherwise bad things happen. And so those things are just important to get down, the amount of time you spend with each other.
No doubt about it. Great stuff, Baldy. We appreciate you. Appreciate you coming on. Of course, Brian Baldinger, Odyssey NFL insider. He's everywhere, though, in the NFL Network, Fox Sports, Sky Sports UK. And you're about to leave the country. I'm so happy that we caught you.
I was looking around the house for my passport right now. I got my priorities here.
I got one more important question. When you're on a flight of that duration, what do you do? What's your plan? Is it a movie? Is it a book? Is it a combination? What do you do for a flight?
Combination. I got some sleeping skills, but generally I catch up. I don't get a chance to watch a lot of movies. So if there's a good one out there that's on, I'll do it. I'll lay down. I got a book. I've got some things that I was given at this quarter.
quarterback collective thing that I want to study down and kind of get some of this stuff down that they're teaching these quarterbacks these days. So it'll be a little hodgepodge of everything. And then I want to read about, you know, some of these places that I want to visit in Thailand that I haven't been to before.
All right. And I think you do need to extend the brand more breakdowns, do a breakdown on the plane, do a breakdown of the elephants, man.
I mean, more baldies. Yeah, I agree guys. And that might, that might be a good idea. And don't be surprised if you don't see one from one of those areas.
