And so the week after the draft is always fun.
I don't know that I felt good that he would, to be honest.
I mean, I think, look, Dylan Theanaman, it could have gone as early as if the board fell a certain way.
I could have seen him going as early as 12 to the Cowboys.
I think he was kind of their backup option if they got wiped out and no Caleb Downs or anybody.
So.
There was a wide range of where we could see Theanaman go, and I think for a lot of reasons.
He's a versatile player, big-time athlete, characters off the charts.
I think there's just a lot of things that... You feel like you're getting your defensive coordinator this...
brand new toy that he can play with that right away out of the box.
He's going to be able to make some plays.
And so I don't know that, I don't know how confident the bears felt that he would actually be there at that pick.
I think they felt pretty good about a handful of guys, but with Theonaman on the board, I think that became a no brainer for them.
Yeah, a little surprised.
I mean, I think obviously we thought โ and I would throw offensive tackle in there too.
We thought maybe they could go offensive tackle in the first round.
But I think edge rusher definitely was one of those positions where you want to add more competition to the mix.
You want to add as many โ you really want to build your depth there, especially when you look at, okay, how did the Seahawks win the Super Bowl this year?
They did it a lot with that pass rush.
