an album in a way because you sort of do a first draft and you go back and you refine it and then you refine it and refine it and it's like sort of like doing a mix on a song really yeah yeah it's i bet so how did you how do you structure the book like do you start from like early john too good as a kid do you like is it sort of chronological yeah

So what were those first albums for you that got you to where you were, you know, starting a band with Tom at Wellington High?

Which every New Zealand family owned.

The process of playing a record is still so cool.

I know obviously it's had a massive resurgence in the numbers of records sold around the world, as high as at one point what they were, and it's had this really cool revival story.

But even on a personal note, I've got an eight-year-old and four-year-old, but my eight-year-old Tyson loves music, and I've got him a little record player, a self-record player for his room, and he'll ask, can I go play records?

And it's really cool watching him

take it out of the sleeve and put it on and I'll be like, you've got to be careful with the stylus.

Teaching them all of that and just watching the process of it.

Totally.

And he's looking at the inside of the cover, I'm like, yeah, rad.

None of his friends know what he's doing, but it looks cool.
