Police say the man chanted, free Palestine, as he was detained. NPR's Jennifer Ludden reports the two people killed were a young couple about to become engaged.

The annual hurricane forecast has been released by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. And with warmer than usual ocean waters, forecasters say they expect it to be a busy season. While perhaps not at last year's level, forecasters are predicting a 60 percent chance of above normal activity. with 13 to 19 named storms, 6 to 10 of which they say are expected to become hurricanes.

While Israeli strikes have expanded across Gaza, Israel has ordered a mass evacuation of civilians in southern Gaza in Khan Yunis. It's affecting around a quarter of Gaza's territory, according to the United Nations. A Palestinian journalist there has sent us footage of people fleeing by foot.
