I guess I do use AI to some extent for research, come to think of it.
But I don't depend on AI.
I never use AI to write whatever it is I'm writing, like a newsletter and so on.
I just feel that I want to express myself in my way.
And I don't care how AI puts it.
So I don't use it personally.
However, I'm developing a process for teams to get better at working together.
And we're using some AI to do that.
So I'm not totally against it.
I think it has its place.
But I really feel strongly that for leaders, for anyone who's managing people in any sense, emotional intelligence is really to the point.
And if you rely on AI instead, you'll get the common denominator, the average of what people say in this situation.
But really, you should determine it yourself with your own emotional intelligence.
You know, the job landscape is changing so rapidly because of AI.
I don't know what it'll look like in five years, but I will say this, as long as people are involved, it's got to also include emotional intelligence abilities, and those can be learned at any point in life.
That's the good news.
Nobody knows.
The reason nobody knows is that unlike IQ, which has been around for more than 100 years, we don't take a yearly measure of the average emotional intelligence.
There are dozens of models of emotional intelligence.
Nobody really in the field agrees with anyone else on how to measure it.
