I won't say rinky-dink, but we've heard of its inadequacies, I suppose, in terms of its professionalism vis-à-vis the city, IRFU or other sporting organisations.

Were you hesitant in any way about the scale of the challenge that was confronting you going in?

To say choppy waters is probably underestimating it.

And I mean, because I speak from personal... Because I was in the committee room in Leinster House when Donald Conway and the team were in that day.

Like...

Like, I was appalled at the behaviour that day.

And I'm not going to, let's not, we're not going to trash, that's not going to be the focus of the podcast, but I do want to just, I suppose, get, like, there was a lot of, you could feel the hurt, I suppose, in the room, and you could feel the hurt, you know, on the airways, et cetera, like that.

Like, the FAO matters to people.

Football in this country matters to people.

And, you know, it's just that that trust was broken.

I mean, the minute that Mark Tye story landed on the front page of the Sunday Times and the subsequent book, and you see the scale of what went on there,

I'm just wondering, like, your first day in the job, what was confronting?

What was your priority going in on day one when you say, like, how do you start to clean up a mess of that nature?

And at what level?

Are you talking at the top level or are you talking at grassroots or across the board?

And not to interrupt you there, but can you understand from your remove having gone in as an outsider as to why that level of underinvestment had happened?

Like, were you given a rationale as to why that failure had sort of come about?

And just on that, again, we were talking about my own club, Glasnevin Football Club, and we don't have a permanent home.

We're reliant on council pitches, and I presume that's the same for a lot of clubs across not only Dublin but elsewhere.
