Barrie was an obsessive cricket fan.

But then you go later on, and we've got first-class cricketer who's got a Nobel Prize, Samuel Beckett.

Not many have got that.

Cricket's got a prime minister who's got first-class, played first-class games, Alec Douglas-Hughes.

So there's a literary connection.

I mean, cricket's got literary connections sort of everywhere you look, really.

That authors' cricket team is still going, right?

I mean, we've played for them a couple of times and there's some very good writers who play there.

Sebastian Foulkes has played for them.

And shout out to John Hotton, who's a writer of some fantastic cricket books.

Let's just briefly touch on Hottas, though, because John Hott wrote, I think, one of the great cricket books, which didn't get as much publicity as I thought it might.

But he did a sort of a damned United version of Geoffrey Boycott, didn't he?

So you've got Geoffrey's actual diaries, which are very extensive.

And then John Houghton inhabits the brain of Geoffrey Boycott and gives you a second view.

It's in second person and he really puts you in there.

So you think this and you did this and you hear it on the radio when you get selected for England.

And being Geoffrey Boycott, it's called, and you really are put in his brain.
