How did it get us closer to where we're supposed to be going with the story?
And I was like, well, that's not the only thing that matters to a movie.
It's not just pushing the mythology forward.
But it is about how connected you are to characters and what their actions reveal about their humanity or their alien-ness, in this case.
And this movie doesn't have anything like that.
It is just a series of adventures and, in fact, just feels like four distinct episodes of the TV show.
And I know many people have said that, but it is what it feels like.
It feels like there are act breaks throughout the movie.
And so if you just receive it in the way that you're describing, which is like, I'm going to turn my brain off.
To go chill in this place with these people and to watch this kind of level of craftsmanship, then it's fine.
