Now in the House of Lords and posted a series of extremely vile posts on his website and on social media, including, for example, an image of a rat with Luciana Burgess face.
It was superimposed on it, calling her an anti-British pro-genocide rodent.
I mean, really, really, really violent.
And then that was going on at the same time as him trying to organise anti-Jewification marches, as he called them, in both Golders Green and Stamford Hill in North London, two of the most Jewish areas in the world.
In North London, and he was sentenced to more than three years for trying to organise one of those protests in Golders Green.
And then on top of that was sentenced to a consecutive sentence of two years for the offences against Luciano Berger.
So more than five years of prison sentences for these offences.
illegal, so bad they were illegal anti-Semitic posts.
Yeah, I mean, during the Luciana Berger trial, which was at the Old Bailey, the judge, you know, comments in his sentencing remarks, as how he'd sat smirking throughout the trial.
But Luciana Berger remembers there was a moment
when he had his Nazi supporters in the gallery and he turned round and gave a Nazi salute to his supporters in the gallery.
As Joe says, he says that while in prison he had a bit of a Damascene conversion, realised the error of his ways, did one of these famous courses in prison, kind of counter-extremist courses, and in many ways he's now a poster boy for how successful those counter-extremism courses can be, and then himself became...
But I think the question is whether you're going to accept someone's rehabilitation.
Fair enough.
And you can say, well, that's great that he's reformed and you can invite him to come and speak at your conferences and things like that.
But whether you then still say, and I want him to be a front man for my party.
That's the thing that I think has caused so much upset, particularly in the Jewish community.
Yeah, and I think all of that's really, really important.
And as I say, he's actually very interesting on the topic of how people get radicalised and how to pull people out of that radicalisation, which is exactly what happened to him.
And I don't think that anything that's been said this week demeans his withdrawal from that very radical approach.
