And thank God that we're so crazy about what we do, that that's the impulse.

I was just, you know, that, so I, I'm a non-sleeper.

I don't know about you, but so I'm always up very, very early.

I can even just go hide someplace, write a couple hundred words and I'll feel better.

I would say that that

Being a reporter, I started wire service, okay?

Oh, the ultimate.

Writing over the phone.

That's like the heroine of reporting, man.

Writing over the phone with a notebook in your hand, you know, could dictate and write very fast.

And

i was at upi you know no punctuation they really didn't want us to punctuate our sentences with anything other than a period and that's why it was my training ground and i had really good editors and good and good uh um partners and teachers and colleagues and i learned a lot um and and it's been a big influence on me just just like

I mean, I started as a newspaper writer.

I was drawn to writers who started their career that way.

And I had the same path.
