I was a friend of mine had a house on the, um, Helford, uh, passage in, in, in Cornwall and took me out sailing on his catch one day.

And there's this little kid waiting for us when we came back to the K and, and, um, and I, you know, don't, don't be around me when I'm working because you're going to end up in the book.

But I always wanted to bring that character back.

And what, you know, what would he be?

What would he grow up to be?

Would he grow up to be a Cornish policeman?

I tell you, I have given serious, serious thought to spinning off that character into his own series.

I love him.

Yeah, his own series.

I don't give any thought to it in terms of his age.

He just is what he is.

I'm writing the books a little differently now, and I don't worry about it.

I did not get to write this one.

I wrote the first one in Cornwall.

Regrettably, I was not able to go back.

And I keep trying to... My wife, as you know, is a... It's a hotshot reporter over at CNN.
