So I think I'm going to be just interested overall in how they will navigate this dynamic between Max Scherzer, the pitching staff, as guys get healthier, where he slots in.
His expectation is he's going to pitch every five days.
Yeah.
But somebody's got to tell him, hey, Max, maybe you're not going to pitch every five games.
Patrick Corbin deserves to get more starts than Max Scherzer and Eric Lauer.
Sure.
And it's not even close.
And I never thought we'd be saying that.
But in fairness to Patrick Corbin, he has, in the body of work that he has put together so far, he has looked more consistent and more impressive than those two guys.
And if you were going on the basis of it being a meritocracy and it's a full egalitarian approach, everybody eats, and if you are performing well, we're going to give you the ball, Corbin absolutely supersedes both of those guys right now.
I can see that.
Yeah, I think that makes sense.
It happened pretty easily.
You know, the other key to it, too, is, I mean, there's a lot of pressure, as it is right now, on guys like Gosman and Cease to really perform every fifth day.
I think that's why even earlier this week, when Cease goes out and punches out 12 over 5,
The conversation shifted the next day to, maybe could you give us six and we'll take a few less strikeouts?
Because you're so desperate to see a guy go deep.
Same with Kevin Gosman.
You're literally banking on those guys every five days not having a blow-up spot.
And it's going to happen.
