And during our research, we kept coming across stories specifically of women that we were so interested in telling but never quite fit the narrative of these outdoor wild spaces and that we know and love. But these stories just felt so important that we were almost pulling our hair out of, how do we tell this on National Park After Dark?

And we kind of came to this conclusion that we can't tell it on National Park After Dark. It doesn't fit. And that this actually deserves its own podcast. And thus, Watch Her Cook has been Born, and you are here for the very first episode.

And that's why we're friends. That's why we found each other later in life. I just knew that about you the second I met you. I was like, this girl's weird. This girl loved historical accounts in third grade. And I just know that. You could just sense it. I could. Yeah.

Well, it's so funny because I've been thinking about that. And I don't know if I have a particular story like you do, but I do have a very vivid memory of one of my earliest projects in school. And it must have been around second or third grade. I remember my teacher's name. Her

And part of what really inspired this podcast, too, is specifically I was listening to a lot of true crime stuff. And don't get me wrong. I love true crime. But I was noticing this narrative that I was really getting tired of. And that was that women are victims. Mm-hmm. Every time I tune into a true crime episode, you know, women are the victims of something.
