So if anybody listening is in the neighborhood and, you know, wants to have a little peek behind the curtain in the Barbican, the places that most people can't go to, let me know.
But yeah, it's a really interesting place.
Yeah.
It's, you know, they're actually closing it down for a couple of years.
Not the flats, obviously, but like the Barbican Center, they're closing it down for renovations for good.
At least a year, if not longer, which is going to be a bit wild.
Yeah.
That's right.
Yeah, totally.
you could do something else like you're starting something no that's true i could become a farmer or something or i could yeah join the the peace corps no i right i i kind of fell into this by accident you know i joined monocle in 2011 so very long time ago and i pretty quickly got given the keys to the business podcast back when monocle 24 was like a new thing that was that was their
at the radio station.
So I was, you know, my early twenties and I kind of fresh out of grad school.
And I was kind of like on the research desk at this 24 hour crazy podcasting station that Monica was setting up.
And there were literally within like, I don't know, a couple of months or like, all right, you're not going to produce the show.
And then a couple of months later, they're like, okay, you're the host.
So I ended up just hosting the show for seven years, six, seven years.
And that was a really kind of magical gig to give a curious 20 something year old, you know, traveling around the world, interviewing everybody you could imagine, you know, monocle-y type people, but non-monocle-y type people too, if that makes sense.
So, you know, shopkeepers.
ambassadors, billionaires, you know, weird tech people.
And I kind of caught the small business bug there where I was like, you know, the most interesting stories are usually the people with really interesting life stories.
