And that brings us to one Stuart Newton, the quietest major drug trafficker in American history.
And I feel pretty confident from saying that because nobody knows who this guy is, and he brought in over a billion dollars of drugs into America.
Now, Ayyu Bafridi is a known entity.
We are not the first ones to tell his story, though we've certainly done it better than pretty much everyone else, but Stuart Newton, he is not known at all.
Sometimes the papers they spell it S-T-E-W-A-R-T, sometimes S-T-U-A-R-T, and we don't have a ton on his early life.
He's born around 1952, which puts him at just about 30 when he starts major international moves.
Anyway, he's from Dryden, New York.
It's a village of a couple thousand people in the farm country outside Ithaca.
That's way upstate New York for those who have you who aren't from the area, closer to Canada than New York City, like hardy folk, rural, Bills fans, most likely, not Giants fans.
And we know he spent some of his early life there.
But during trial, during one of his trials, a witness who's known him since the mid 1960s knows him as a Long Island guy, which is a completely different type of guy.
guy than an upstate guy.
And honestly, I don't I don't know how to explain Long Island to people.
Maybe think of like 1980s Brooklyn stereotypes like Irish, Jews, Italians, Chicken Parm, Terrible Fashion, Stockbrokers, Wolf of Wall Street.

By the late 1960s, just out of his teens, he's said to have been organizing large scale marijuana importation into Florida, though there's not much detail out there on this.
It's not massive like in the cold open, but solid enough where he's making money.
