Yeah, so this song, Years, there's a part in it where it's like the bridge.
It's basically about addiction and somebody going into the darkness.
And, you know, I've got quite a close circle of me, of people who are right on the edge.
And you know when those people who are, they're one bad situation from going back in again.
So you're fearful if they get bad news that they're going to have a beer and you fear they have a beer, you won't see them for years.
But this was part of the bridge, which is an old story.
And it was a story of a friend of mine who went, he got so drunk, he went into town.
He was looking to score drugs and they beat him up and they threw him in the river, in the river Liffey.
And he climbed out of the river Liffey and shit all over him.
And then he was trying to get the bus home, but the bus driver wouldn't let him on.
And he had no money.
And then he started walking in the direction of home.
But he wasn't wanted at home because his parents didn't want him there anymore because he was an alcoholic.
And so I ended up writing about that story.
And it was like a cathartic moment where the hairs and we're like, you know, it's because it's the truth.
You know, it's someone else's truth, but it's a collective truth that we all share.
That me, you, you know, family members, everybody shares this
if we're that close you know I heard you talking about like that beer is like if I have that one that's the gateway to remorse and you know we're always on that on the verge of that and you have to be prepared for that at all at all costs you know and I think people can be quite scared by that like or people find that quite um
I thought I was taking a break.
I convinced myself that stopping was too hard.
