Give that man a nice three, four year extension, pay him what he's worth.
And to your point, Layla,
They really do have Nico Horner at home.
But will they let him out the house?
That's the question right now.
With Nico, because I really believe he was the heart and soul of that team last year in terms of his production, his leadership, what he represented for the team.
You have to sign him.
And the only way you can trade him is if you know you can't sign him.
So those are the conversations that need to be had now before the trade deadline.
The only way you would ever trade him is if you can't re-sign him.
Either get the extension done before the deadline.
Or you're just like, hey, it's one last shot before the work stoppage.
We're going to see what we can do with Nico Horner.
And then you're letting him walk.
he's it so i that's the part of this i also don't understand what equation gets you to a better team on the field right now if he's not there i don't think there is one unless you're saying everyone's going to stay healthy we know that's not the case because guess who's not starting the season healthy say a suzuki and so you have this super utility guy and matt shaw who could say oh he could play second base in the future instead of but
Again, he's not as good a defensive second baseman as Nico Horner is.
He also isn't as proven a commodity in terms of consistency offensively as Nico Horner is.
To be good, you need to be deep.
We found that out the hard way with Kyle Tucker.
