We'll dive deeper into Purdue Pharma, corporate accountability, and the real-life events that inspired one of television's most powerful true crime dramas.
What sort of responsibility did you feel to the families of the victims, for example?
Incredible responsibility.
But I felt, you know, to me, the show was sort of a tribute to them.
But also, you know, when we were making it, it really had felt like they had all gotten away with it.
You know, that there hadn't been this reckoning that did come eventually, although they still no one's ever been charged criminally.
But the show shows how they how they how the prosecutors wanted to charge people criminally and how they went through their fingers, you know, and just how it all slipped through their fingers.
Right.
But but I wanted I very much viewed the show is the trial that Purdue Pharma never got.
Right.
So I wanted to lay out I wanted to lay out all the deception in a way that just showed the audience in the country, in the world.
Right.
