It's like if you are brave enough to get on stage and share your heart with the room, you'll be welcome in.
So it's really like wholesome in that sense.
And I found that and I really enjoyed it.
And it was just like another way to do poetry.
But it felt like because I was so interested in page poetry, it felt like there wasn't as much pressure with the stage stuff.
I just enjoyed doing it.
And had you done acting as a child or anything like that?
Or were you interested in the arts in that sense?
No, I was actually... I grew up thinking I wasn't creative at all.
And I was a shy kid, so I didn't really like being in the spotlight or anything like that.
The idea of public speaking terrified me.
Then, I suppose in my early 20s, I got used to being on stage because I did a lot of mental health talks in different schools and universities and workplaces.
So I was kind of used to that.
And then...
spoken word came along and i really enjoyed it and then i'd seen like other poets pop up
on Instagram, Don Ashworth, Lucas Jones, who were like doing their poetry as videos with music.
And I was like, this is really like engaging and you can feel it straight away.
And I decided I'd try to do that as well.
And I was tipping away with it.
You know, it was fine.
