I had like 16,000 followers or something on Instagram.
And then last summer I put up a favor of boys.
And when I was going to sleep, it was like at 30,000 views, which at the time I was like, oh, this is doing really well.
So I was happy days, like went to sleep, woke up the next morning and it had absolutely blown up.
Channing Tatum had followed me, all this.
I was like, what the hell is going on?
And yeah, it just blew up and that was kind of the start of it.
How long did it take you to write that poem?
Or was it going around in your head for ages?
Because it was a response to Lucas Jones's poem.
He has a poem called Dangerous Men.
And I really liked the idea and the concept of like reimagining what dangerous means in the context of men, because it's typically like being violent.
But what if dangerous was like they're actually the opposite of the typical idea of men?
I love it's just a genius idea.
And I wanted to do my response to him.
In homage to his original poem, because it's brilliant, but just my version of what I conceptualize as what being a good man would be.
Typically, once I have an idea for a poem, it doesn't take me long to do a first draft.
It might take me 15 or 20 minutes.
Before I posted it or before I performed it, I had it written for six months.
Usually, if it's something that I find that's important to me, I'll leave it sit somewhere
