You know, traditionally speaking, there's nothing traditional about any of this.
None of it in Toronto has been old-school approach.
You know, Trey Living did the same thing with Sheldon Keefe.
He came in, and all right, I don't know Sheldon at all.
I want to see what he's got, what he's going to bring, and how the team responds for a year, and then they made their decision on the coach.
I think that a good number of the players would like to see Craig Berube back.
I do, but...
I haven't done a poll.
I don't know that it's 50% or 75% or what that number is.
But again, it's a weird scenario when the current head coach, Berube, has his exit interview meetings with each individual player, says, all right, the pattern for success is we have to start playing for each other, playing as a team.
Right.
I mean, when when we play as a team, then those are the games that we won.
And when we didn't play that way, those are the games we lost.
But he's got no level of certainty here.
And Pelly has been very upfront with that.
Right.
That'll be up to whoever is in charge moving forward.
But Ruby is under contract for the next two years.
So he's going to get paid by the Toronto Maple Leafs one way or another.
Well, look, when the process first started and, you know, the coaches agency, the search firm was hired, the timeline that I was presented at that point was they were targeting mid-May to make that decision and have somebody in place.
